Sega showed off over ten minutes of English gameplay from the upcoming Yakuza: Like a Dragon during the first day of IGN’s Summer of Gaming digital event. The footage was shown during an interview of Senior Localization Producer Scott Strichart conducted by IGN’s Max Scoville and primarily highlights the game’s new turn-based combat system, as well as some of the side content found in the city of Yokohama.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the newest title in the series and is known as Yakuza 7 in Japan. The game stars a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who is released after taking the fall and serving a prison sentence for someone else but finds himself abandoned by his former allies in the yakuza. It was released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in January 2020. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is currently confirmed for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC later this year.
